It's sorta disheartening (sp? even a word?) spending Thanksgiving away from home. This will be my first Thanksgiving I've spent away from Chicago since I was 7. Before that I don't really remember so it doesn't really count. Well, there were the times we had Thanksgiving at Nanie's in RI, but that also doesn't really count.
I hate how hard it was to organize some sort of dinner here. Everyone is all cliqued off and it's really frustrating. We're here in a foreign country, and there's a whole huge group of us that just hang out with the couple Germans that speak really good English, and do nothing but speak English and be exclusive. But I rant. I am having dinner with a few of the Americans I feel I get along decently with. I just wish we did more stuff.
Tomorrow is London, my train leaves the Hbf at 7.20, which means I have to catch a Strassenbahn at 6.43. That means waking up at the latest 6.00. Whatev, it will be much fun and there will be many pictures. Monday morning it's London -> Berlin, which will also be much fun. At least I've been there and can show the Mother around and pretend to know what the hell I'm doing in this country.
I need to download MATLAB so I can start on my DSV project. Well not really a project, but I don't think I necessarily have to do it in the lab if I have Matlab at home, which is nice. I just have to go in and demonstrate my results at the end of it, which won't be a problem.
Hmm. Anyways, I need to go try to find sweet potatoes. And beer. Where in the world am I going to find beer.
